F1 Austrian Grand Prix 2022

Formula 1 makes a quick turn-around from last week and arrives in Austria, to hit the 11th event of this season on Sunday, July 10th at the F1 Lenovo Austrian Grand Prix.

The Austrian Grand Prix is a Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile sanctioned motor racing event that was held in 1964, 1970–1987, and 1997–2003.

This Grand Prix returned to the Formula One calendar in 2014.

The Austrian Grand Prix has been held at two different locations in southeastern Austria, being originally held in Zeltweg, about 70 km (43 mi) west of Graz.

Since 1969, it has taken place in neighboring Spielberg, with the two venues being within approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) of each other.

It was first held at the Zeltweg Air Base for six years before a permanent track, originally called the Österreichring and later known as the A-1 ring and Red Bull Ring was built.

F1 Austrian GP Race Preview and Betting Picks

Following the hair-raising drama at Silverstone, nobody knows how the next race will pan out.

Max Verstappen is the favorite to take the chequered flag at the Red Bull Ring.

The reigning World Champion finished seventh at the British GP after sustaining bodywork damage.

But having won five of the past seven races, he remains 34 points clear atop the World Drivers’ Championship standings.

As expected, Charles Leclerc is viewed as Verstappen’s main challenger once again.

Although the Ferrari man finished fourth last time out, he is still one of the fastest drivers on the grid.

Of course, Verstappen is the main man at Red Bull.

But there is no hiding the fact that Perez has outperformed his teammate – and the defending champion – on three occasions this season.

The Mexican claimed three P2 finishes across the first six races before winning the Monaco Grand Prix

He has since finished second in two of the past three races, reaching the podium in Azerbaijan and Britain.

Many people expected Leclerc to be Verstappen’s main title rival this year, but it’s Perez who sits second in the World Drivers’ Championship standings after ten races.

He will surely fancy his chances of triumphing in Austria.

Our picks:

Sergio Perez lands first place making a statement in Austria

Max Verstappen lands in 2nd place

Carlos Sainz scores 3rd place

Charles Leclerc makes it to 4rth

George Russel in 5th staying close to the top as always
