2025 Japanese GP Preview and Free Picks

Japanese GP

The third round of the Formula One season and the Grand Prix weekend is about to begin at the iconic Japanese GP in Suzuka.

Mclaren is looking for a third consecutive win, with the battle with Lando and Piastri heating up. On the other hand, Yuki Tsunoda will debut at his home track in a Red Bull suit after the switch with Liam Lawson, who was not performing and now has to prove that he deserves to stay at the F1 level.

Max Verstappen will aim for his first win of the season, while George Russell seeks his third podium finish. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, both driving for Ferrari, will look to make amends by showcasing their speed and finishing on the podium following their disqualification in the last race.

Japanese GP Circuit Preview

The beloved Suzuka Circuit, one of the drivers’ and fans’ favorite tracks, has been the venue for many title-deciding races. In the past, the Japanese GP was one of the last races on the calendar, and Japan was the only Asian nation to host a Formula one race until the Pacific GP joined the Formula One calendar in 1999.

With a length of 5.807 km (3.608 miles), the Suzuka Circuit has 53 laps and a total race length of 307.471 km (191.053 miles) with 18 turns. This high-speed track remains one of the ultimate driving challenges, with the ‘S’ curves, the two commitment-rewarding Degners, and the white-knuckle ride of 130R all highlights of this perfect track.

The weather forecast for FP1(Free practice) and FP2 shows no rain expected, with temperatures from 14°C to 15°C. However, clouds are expected to increase on Saturday afternoon at Suzuka, with a light south-easterly wind for both sessions, and an early 20% chance of rain has now dropped to 0%, with a temperature of 15°C. A cold front on Saturday night is expected to bring 2-8mm of rain on Sunday morning, with the FIA stating showers are ‘likely’ before a chance of improvement in the afternoon.

Temperatures are expected at 17°C for the Japanese Grand Prix, and a 40% chance of rain at the start of the race, decreasing to 20% as the race progresses.

Japanese GP Betting Picks

We expect the battle between Lando and Piastri to continue as the Formula One season progresses. While McLaren has the best car on the grid, Mercedes has been taking points in the past two races, staying out of any battle.

Yuki Tsunoda’s debut race in Red Bull means it is a good chance for the team to have both drivers scoring points.

Ferrari needs to step up and make the correct decisions on track to recover from the last GP.
