Another Formula 1 weekend and we are still in Asian territory, as the Singapore GP, the 18th of the season, will be held on September 22.
This Grand Prix was held from 1966 to 1973, then returned in 2008, taking place in the street circuit of Marina Bay, where the drivers will drive 62 laps and cover a total of 190.228 miles.
The last winner of this circuit is the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, while the German Sebastian Vettel is the maximum winner, having won it five times.

2024 Singapore GP Top Contenders
Seven races remain and each time the McLaren of Lando Norris gets a little closer to Max Verstappen. In Azerbaijan, he only managed to cut three points off, but that was because he started 15th on the grid and managed to move up to fourth, one place ahead of the Dutchman.
Norris has beaten Max in four of the last five races, although he has only been able to win two Grand Prix this season: Miami and the Netherlands. He has been second five times and third in three others, so he has been on the podium in 10 of the 17 races, and only in one did he fail to score points after suffering an accident that took him out of the race.
The MCL38 is beating the RB20, so much so that the McLaren team has already overtaken Red Bull in the team standings, something that seemed unthinkable. And it is not only because of Norris but also because of Oscar Piastri. The Australian won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in a great fight with Carlos Sainz and Checo Perez, and it is his second win in the last five races, as well as being second twice and fourth once in that period.
Piastri has proven to be a great driver despite being only in his second season in Formula 1. His worst position in recent races was seventh in Spain, which speaks very well of the car’s performance and he is expected to maintain that pace.
But we cannot leave out the world champion. Max Verstappen is a great driver, but the car is not working for him. Red Bull is a great team with very good engineers who will surely be able to turn this situation around. Likewise, we saw how Checo Perez fought for the first place a week ago, so Max can do it.

As we said, Checo Perez proved in Azerbaijan that he is a great street circuit driver, but he was unlucky in the last laps in that accident with Carlos Sainz. The Mexican already won in 2022 and although he has had a bad season, he hopes to take advantage of this race to get a boost for the rest of the year.
Like Checo, Carlos Sainz is also a driver who enjoys these street circuits. He already proved it in Azerbaijan, where he was having a great race until he hadthe unfortunate accident, and is the actual winner of this GP. Ferrari has shown good things, so he must be included in the pack.
And speaking of the Italian team, we have to also name Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque has four consecutive podiums including a first place at Monza, so his mission is to get his third win of the F1 season, as he is in the middle of the two McLarens.
