Inter Miami was the best team of the regular season, and in their first playoff series, they faced an Atlanta United team that qualified after eliminating, in penalty kicks, Montréal in the Play-In.

Leo Messi’s Inter came out at their stadium with the mission of maintaining the good level they had had all year, and after just two minutes, they took the lead with a shot inside the box by Luis Suarez after a pass from Diego Gomez.

However, although it was the locals who tried the most, Saba Lobjanidze was to equalize the score with a cross-shot after a great assist from Pedro Amador.

In the second half, it was Jordi Alba who would rub the lamp, scoring a great goal that would give Inter the victory and lead the series 1-0.

Now they will have to play in Atlanta, and a victory for Miami would give them the passage to the quarterfinals, while a victory for the locals, by any score, would force a third game.

Despite a first half in which they could only score one goal, LA Galaxy was dominant and crushed the Colorado Rapids 5-0 with braces from Dejan Joveljic and Riqui Puig in the first game of the series.

The Galaxy opened the scoring just past the half-hour mark on a corner kick by Puig that found the head of Joveljic. In the second half, in the 52nd minute, Miki Yamane opened the ball up for John Nelson, who cut inside the box and slotted the ball into the corner for a 2-0 lead.

Just two minutes later, Puig was to deliver a blow to Colorado’s hopes after Joveljic returned the favor, and the Spaniard shot for the 3-0. The Serbian appeared again to collect a rebound in the box to make it 4-0 in the 75th minute.

The 5-0 would come at the end, in the 87th minute, with Gabriel Pec giving the ball to the talented Spanish midfielder who, as soon as he entered the area, shot to close the party.

The Galaxy will now have to play away, and even if Colorado wins 1-0, they would have to play a third game.

Los Angeles FC, leaders of the Western Conference, were not as dominant as expected, but it was enough to beat Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 in the first game and travel to Canada with peace of mind.

It was an entertaining match with several chances per side and up to four shots on the posts. Denis Bouanga opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a penalty kick. In the second half, it was Cristian Olivera’s turn with a strong shot over the top, impossible for goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka, who managed to touch the ball.

In the last seconds of the game, Ryan Gauld appeared with a left-footed shot inside the box to decorate the result because there was very little left to think about a comeback.

Whitecaps, who had crushed Portland Timbers in the play-in (5-0), showed that they have arguments to play their opponents and hope to extend the series to three games in Canada.

Orlando City achieved a great 2-0 victory over Charlotte FC in a series that promises to be very even, but this weekend, the home club was superior.

The Florida team was the one that had most of the chances and managed to score with Facundo Torres after a cross from the left that was rejected by the visiting defense, but it was left to the Uruguayan.

In the second half, a great run by Iván Angulo, who seemed to be running a race and not playing a game, helped the Colombian to assist Martín Ojeda, and the Argentinean shot the goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina, who had a very good game despite the two goals.

In the last minutes, the Spaniard Pep Biel was sent off andwill be a big loss for Charlotte, which loses one of its best players who arrived in August to reinforce them.
