Two teams on equal ground that want to surprise face once the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams clash at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Why bet on the Bears?

The locals beat the Titans on the opening day and then lost to the Texans and Colts, thus their 1-2 mark. They are already at the bottom of the AFC North, a position that is not strange to them. They have been last in the previous two seasons, and all their divisional rivals look much more solid this campaign, so the chance of a recovery is slim already.

Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron has been one of the most talked-about men in Chicago sports this week. That, after ongoing offensive struggles came to a head in a disastrous red-zone series in the 21-16 loss to the Colts.

The Bears failed to score after they had first-and-goal from the 4-yard line in the second quarter. That included a third-and-one play call that coach Matt Eberflus said needed to be better when wide receiver DeAndre Carter was asked to block a defensive end and got bowled over. And it included a fourth-and-one speed option that lost 12 yards.

Why Bet on the Rams?

The Rams boast the same record, but their win came in different circumstances, beating divisional rivals San Francisco in a dramatic way. This came after losses to the Lions and Cardinals.

Los Angeles had their offense under coach Sean McVay beaten up with injuries in the early going, and they’ll be without Pro Bowl receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua on Sunday. Still, Stafford orchestrated a come-from-behind, 27-24 win over the 49ers. The tying touchdown drive included a 50-yard pass to Tutu Atwell.

The Rams defense, playing its first season without retired future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald, is worst in the league in several categories, allowing 425.7 yards per game and 6.8 yards per play, and ranks 31st with 30.3 points allowed per game.

Final Betting Analysis: Bears vs. Rams

The Rams have done a solid job pressuring opposing quarterbacks, but their defense has been routinely hit for big plays in the passing game. They also have been very poor at stopping the run, but it’s impossible to say how these factors will matter against a Bears offense that has a lot of issues.

With the Rams beat up on the offensive line, having used three starters at left guard already, and with Matthew Stafford missing top receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the Bears have a big chance to go 2-2.

LA can key on the passing game since they know the Bears can’t run on anybody, and though they will struggle to move the ball, we expect the coaching edge they enjoy with Sean McVay over Matt Eberflus to make the difference. We’ll go for a win for the visitors at the UNDER.

Go for a win for the Rams at 2.25. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $125 for a total payout of $225.
