Why Bet on the Patriots?

The New England Patriots got off to a good start in the Jerod Mayo era. He will be a rookie this season as head coach, but he knows a lot about the club since he played his entire career with this team and then was part of Bill Belichick’s staff, who, until last season, was the head coach.

In the first preseason game, they had no trouble beating the Panthers 17-3, who even scored their only three points with a kick with almost two minutes left, something that speaks very well of the Patriots’ defense.

On offense, as many as four quarterbacks made their presence felt, with Jacoby Brissett being disappointing with no completed passes in three attempts, while Bailey Zappe was the most effective with 12-of-20. Likewise, youngsters Joe Milton III and Drake Maye, this year’s NFL Draft picks, made their debuts. Maye, a third-round draft pick from whom much is expected, went 2-of-3 with 19 yards, while Milton had four successful passes in six attempts, including one to JaQuae Jackson for the wide receiver’s touchdown.

Undoubtedly, several rookies showed important things, since in addition to the quarterbacks, Terrell Jennings, Javon Baker, Dell Pettus or JaQuae Jackson himself made Mayo undecided for what is to come, and they will have to continue showing in the rest of the games.

Why Bet on the Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles had a good preseason opener, beating the visiting Baltimore Ravens 16-13 on a Jake Elliot field goal with less than five seconds left.

Elliot had attempted a field goal 10 seconds earlier from a little further away (50 yards), but it hit the post, keeping the game tied. And, on the next play, rookie Emory Jones, who had just entered the game, lost the ball, and Patrick Johnson recovered it for the Eagles and scored with that field goal.

Undoubtedly, it was a lot of emotions for a first preseason game, and it also left the Eagles with a good feeling, who had a good Kenny Pickett in his first game with this team, but more is expected from him. The former Steelers player made 14 passes out of 22 attempts, with 89 yards through the air and a touchdown. Tanner McKee went 6-of-16, while rookies Lew Nichols and Will Shipley scored touchdowns.
