That is it, we are entering the final matchday of the Apertura MX regular season, and the teams should define their stand for the Liguilla and Play-In.
Cruz Azul finished with no pressure on their shoulders after an outstanding campaign, being unreachable by anyone else. Tigres and Toluca landed the 2nd and 3rd spots, and now the focus is on whether they will switch positions in the last game, as the teams below won’t catch up.
Things get extra interesting from the 4th to the 9th place, as a good night out could change things a lot regarding the postseason.
América worked its way to the top six on time to skip the Play-In, but they have one more game to define their position towards their title defense.
Many things may be defined already, but we expect an excellent matchday with many surprises, so we bring the betting odds and our free predictions.

Chivas comes as 9th on the board, but it’s still able to jump ahead and get a straight pass to the postseason. They have had a solid offense and defense throughout the campaign, but couldn’t rack up as many points as their numbers suggest.
Thankfully, El Rebaño doesn’t worry much if they lose, but their opponents, San Luis, are likely pissed off after the draw in their last match. América jumped over and pushed them back into the 7th spot.
Now, they need to make a statement if they want to regain the 6th spot and skip the Play-In, but they also need the Águilas to lose points.
With Chivas at home and pushing the momentum from their recent victory, while San Luis is trying to get another win as visitors after their draw with a Necaxa, it will be a tight match. Still, we believe the hosts will take the win.
Chivas vs. San Luis Betting Pick: Chivas de Guadalajara
Apertura MX 2024: Matchday 17 – Toluca vs. Club America

The 3rd placed team has nothing to lose coming into this clash. However, they could always try to improve their position and land the 2nd place. Especially, considering that Tigres has a massive challenge having to face Cruz Azul.
They could also try to halt América from getting points, making the Águilas fight to reach the Liguilla and lose ground.
However, América decided to pick up the pace after a troublesome season and is looking pretty good, coming in from six matches undefeated, with five wins in between and three in a row.
The Águilas look to soar in this last matchday as they try to make a statement as defending champions.
Toluca vs. Club América Betting Pick: América
Apertura MX 2024: Matchday 17 – Cruz Azul vs. Tigres

This will be the best game of the weekend, giving the top two teams a final test.
Things will be heated, as Tigres looks to continue its three-match win streak and end the league phase on a high note. Meanwhile, Cruz Azul will aim to reach 44 points and break all the records.
With the home team being the most offensive out of the two and also having the best defense on the table, we expect them to win and give a clear message to the rest of the teams: we are the team to beat.
Cruz Azul vs. Tigres Betting Pick: Cruz Azul
Apertura MX 2024: Matchday 17 – Club Tijuana vs. Puebla
When? | Sunday, November 10 at 10:10 PM ET, 9:10 PM CST, 8:10 PM MT, and 7:10 PM PT |
Where? | Estadio Caliente |
Where can I watch it? | fuboTV, TUDN, and Univision |
Tijuana will have a perfect chance to sneak into the top six in this last matchday, as the 8th-placed team faces a 14th-placed Puebla that started the season with some promise but crashed down in the second half.
La Franja has lost four of its last five but still got a big upset over Chivas. However, due to the fact that the northern team hasn’t found a victory in their previous four matches, it’s hard to see them surprising again.
We believe Xolos will win, but it’s hard to tell if that will be enough to assault the top six.
Club Tijuana vs. Puebla Betting Pick: Tijuana
