After a short vacation, the Liga MX Femenil returns with the Apertura MX Fem 2024, where three teams appear to be the main candidates for glory: Monterrey, Tigres, and Club América.
Monterrey has the crown and must debut as visitors against Puebla, a mediocre team the previous semester.
América, who lost in the final, will have to face a derby in the Mexican capital against Cruz Azul, which wants to clean up the image it left last season, while Tigres will have to face Atlas in Guadalajara.
In another interesting match on the first matchday, Pumas will play at home against León, two teams that reached the quarterfinals last semester.

Cruz Azul was a tremendous disappointment last season, finishing 16th with only eight points, which is why this club was one of the most reinforced: goalkeeper Alejandría Godínez, Opal Curless, Lia Martínez, Julissa Dávila, Valeria Valdez, Danya Gutiérrez, and Ximena D’Acosta arrived.
Last season, América reached the final as the great candidate after eliminating Tigres in the semifinals but failed against Monterrey. This semester, they are counting on midfielder Nancy Antonio as their most remarkable recruit but their best striker, Katty Martínez, who scored 31 goals in the last two semesters, has left.

Puebla failed to make the playoffs last season, scoring 18 points, nine behind eighth-place Juárez. There are seven new signings, including goalkeeper Mariana Caballero, defender Alexandra Figueroa, and forwards Luisa De Alba and Alyssa Oviedo.
Monterrey is the reigning champion, so it already has a lot of pressure this semester, but it also achieved the most important signing of the market, announcing the arrival of striker Katty Martínez. Goalkeeper Ana Gaby Paz also arrived.

Atlas was another of the teams that did not stand out for the mediocrity of their performance, finishing 12th with 18 points. They have announced the signing of defender Elena Sainz but suffered the departure of goalkeeper Ana Gaby Paz.
As the biggest champion in the history of the Liga MX Femenil, Tigres has a duty, especially because last year they dominated all the phases until they reached the semifinals, where they were unable to beat Club América. Tigres has two major absentees, Liliana Mercado, and Nancy Antonio, while its star reinforcement has arrived from Valencia, Spain: defender Jimena López.
Atlas vs. Tigres Betting Pick: Tigres
