In the most interesting match of the day, Club América demonstrated their intentions to be absolute champions of Liga MX, as they achieved a resounding victory over Toluca, their historic rival in Mexican soccer and contender for first place in the table, with a score of 5-1.
América played a counter-attacking game, which made Toluca’s defense look weak.
It all started with Diego Valdés Contreras’ goal in minute 9′, which gave the team a lot of confidence at the beginning of the match. Then, in minute 14, Juan Pablo Domínguez equalized the actions, but this would only last a few seconds, as Henry Martín gave América the lead in minute 15.
Things did not end there, as Diego Valdés scored 3-1 in minute 24′, with his second goal of the night.
With the score at 3-1, América had the game in the bag, but that was not to be, as Julián Andrés Quiñones scored a brace in the 73rd and 82nd minutes to put the game away. In addition, this victory sent América to the top of the table, three points ahead of their closest pursuers.

Finally, one of the most entertaining matches of the day was between Monterrey and Tigres, both of whom left their souls on the field to try to take the three points, but the match ended with a remarkable 3-3.
Tigres started the match with an early surprise, as Juan Brunetta scored the team’s first goal at minute 1′. Then, 7 minutes later, Luis Romo scored the 1-1. After several scoring chances on both sides, Tigres finally managed to score their second goal at minute 45+2′, to go to the break with an advantage on the scoreboard.
Then, at the start of the second half, Juan Brunetta scored his second goal to give Tigres a 3-1 lead. At minute 61′, Gerardo Arteaga started Monterrey’s comeback to make the score 2-3, while, at minute 90+10′, seconds before the end of the match, they managed to score the definitive 3-3 with Germán Berterame.
