The second half of the Clausura MX 2024 is starting, and the extraordinary fight for first place in the overall standings between Monterrey, Cruz Azul, Pachuca, and América continues.
However, we cannot leave aside Toluca, who has pleasantly surprised us in this tournament, and Tigres, who could also fight for the top in the blink of an eye.
So far, we are experiencing one of the tightest Liga MX tournaments in recent years, as there is no clear favorite to lead the regular season till the end.

Toluca continues to win games left and right, and this time, their victim was none other than Tigres UANL. After an intense battle at the Nemesio Diez Stadium, the Red Devils could take a 2-1 victory.
Toluca was much more than Tigres in this match, no doubt about that. The home team had up to 23 scoring chances with 7 shots on goal, while the visitors only created four dangerous situations, with only one shot on goal, which they converted.
However, the match started very well for the felines, as they managed to score 1-0 thanks to Ozziel Herrera at minute 35. However, the team’s joy was short-lived, as at minute 45+6′, Sebastián Córdova was sent off, which greatly conditioned the visiting squad.
In the second half, Toluca went on the attack with the numerical advantage and turned the score around with goals in the 54th and 71st minutes through Alexist Vega and Tiago Volpi, respectively.

Cruz Azul continues to demonstrate its excellent level of play in the Clausura 2024 tournament and managed to crush Chivas with a score of 3-0.
The Cementeros were superior to Chivas, and in less than 35 minutes, they completely sentenced the match. We indeed enjoyed a great performance by Cruz Azul, but there is no denying that we didn’t see much intensity from either side.
Lorenzo Faravelli started the match with a great goal in the 7th minute to give the home team an early lead. That, undoubtedly, made Cruz Azul come alive and attack a little more aggressively. Finally, in minutes 27′ and 33′, Uriel Antuna scored the team’s other two goals to lead them to a crushing 3-0 victory.

An exceptional and, above all, very entertaining match was played at the Miguel Hidalgo “Huracán” Stadium, with Pachuca winning 3-2 against Juárez.
Both teams displayed a remarkable offense throughout the match, but Pachuca was able to make their home ground respected to take these three golden points.
It started with a balanced development, which ended with a 0-0 score in the first 45 minutes. However, in the second half, things changed completely, as both offenses began to shine immediately.
In the 48th minute, Aitor García scored the 1-0 for Juárez. Then, in the 73rd and 75th minutes, Nelson Deossa and Erick Sánchez scored Pachuca’s first two goals to turn the score around. In the 82nd minute, Venezuelan Salomón Rondón made the 3-1 with an excellent goal. A goal by Diego Capillo for Juárez in the 84th minute sealed the actions.

Finally, América got their claws out and gave a blow to Atlas in this game for matchday 10 of the Clausura 2024, with an excellent final score of 5-1.
Atlas started this match very well, scoring their only goal in the 7th minute thanks to Eduardo Aguirre. However, things took a 180° turn when América started to smell blood on the field.
In the 31st minute, Julián Quiñones equalized the score at 1-1. Then, in minute 45+11′, Henry Martín gave América the lead before going to the break. In the second half, América’s siege was such that in the 76th and 82nd minutes, Alejandro Zendejas scored the team’s 3rd and 4th goals to give them a solid 4-1 lead.
Finally, in the 86th minute, Martin scored his second goal of the night to seal the match 5-1.
