After defeating Toluca at home on the Akron Stadium, the Guadalajara team now achieved its first victory as a visitor, on a complicated ground like that of Atlético de San Luis.

In the first half, the whistler pointed a maximum penalty in favor of Chivas. The person in charge of collecting was Víctor Guzmán, who did it perfectly to open the score and send the Sacred Flock with an advantage at halftime.

It was not until the second half that Chivas managed to increase the lead, again via penalty, after a foul by Jürgen Damm on Alan Mozo inside the area. Once again, the person in charge of collecting was ‘Pocho’ Guzmán, who now did it with the power to declare the final 0-2.

For the second consecutive game, América dropped points; Now it was against Rayados in a 1-1 draw at the Azteca Stadium, in a game where the Egles were better but very erratic in front of Esteban Andrada’s goal.

América was a concert of attack errors, although they took the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from Diego Valdés at 23 minutes after a good pass from Emilio Lara.

Much of their play was because André Jardine continues to move his scheme, he does not repeat his lineup so far in the tournament, and that is already beginning to affect the results.

Contrary to other occasions in which Luis Ángel Malagón was the hero of his team, Monterrey only had one dangerous play, and it was the one that ended up being Sergio Canales’ goal, his second of the tournament, and all thanks to an error by Emilio Lara.

It cost the black and red from Atlas blood, sweat, and tears to win categorically 3-0 against Santos Laguna, in actions on matchday 5 of the Clausura MX 2024. Their triumph in Jalisco was marred by the scandalous injury suffered by Eduardo Aguirre after opening the scoreboard.

The first minutes were a back-and-forth of both squads in the rival area. Gaddi Aguirre for the locals and Alan Cervantes for the visitors tried to open the score for their cause, until at 26′ ‘Mudo’ Aguirre got the first goal of the game with a right-footed shot in the area after José Lozano’s pass.

Unfortunately, Aguirre could not celebrate the goal he achieved against his former teammates, because during the play he had a collision with Carlos Acevedo, suffering a terrible cut on his left leg, which prevented him from continuing in the match.

Despite the emotional blow after their teammate’s injury, Atlas players continued with the offensive vocation. A pair of arrivals from Jordy Caicedo and Raymundo Fulgencio ended in the home team’s second goal, the work of Aldo Rocha. The VAR came into action to award a penalty, and the red and black captain scored with power toward Acevedo’s left post.

The Laguneros’ hope of waking up in the complementary half did not last long, since at 48′, Mateo García managed to finish from the left inside the area after a pass from ‘Rayful’ to put the score at 3-0. In the remaining minutes, they desperately tried to get into the game. Jordan Carrillo, Jair González, Alberto Ocejo, and Franco Fagúndez tried to beat the goal defended by Carlos Vargas, although without the desired success.
