NFL Week 14 Roundup

NFL Week 14

The week 14 of the NFL regular season was indeed a wild one, and even though it just wrapped up, the ones looking at the scoreboards can still feel a chill running down their spine, taking everything that went down into consideration.

The Eagles no longer have the best record, as the Cowboys managed to take a victory over them and tie at the top with ten wins and three losses each, as they both lead the NFC East.

The 49ers and the Ravens wasted no time either, managing to tie the 10 – 3 score while leading the NFC West and AFC North, respectively.

We only have a few more weeks to go, but all the teams are eager to showcase their skills before the playoffs start.

Tylan Wallace returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown in overtime, and the Ravens beat the Rams 37-31, who saw their three-game winning streak end. Wallace evaded two tackles and stayed on his feet when Shaun Jolly pounced on him on the left flank.

The third-year wide receiver finished the winning touchdown play by jumping into the end zone before his teammates ran to hug him. Baltimore’s winning play came after the team was without fellow wide receiver Devin Duvernay due to a back problem.

The Ravens (10-3) took the top of the American Conference, ahead of Miami, which lost to the Tennessee Titans on Monday. Lamar Jackson and Matthew Stafford each threw three touchdown passes, overcame the wet conditions, and dropped several passes in a sloppy but high-scoring game.

The San Francisco 49ers further solidified their hold on the NFC West and strengthened their push for the top seed in the conference with a 28-16 victory over the division-rivals Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Brock Purdy threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns, while Christian McCaffrey added 145 yards on the ground — including a 72-yard scamper on the game’s opening play. All of San Francisco’s star skill players had relevant plays: Brandon Aiyuk caught six passes for 126 yards. Deebo Samuel hauled seven for 149, a score, and had a 1-yard rushing touchdown. George Kittle had just three receptions, but one was a 44-yard touchdown.

After a strong opening drive from the Seahawks, the 49ers mostly clamped down the rest of the day, holding Seattle to nine points over the final five or so minutes of play. They also sacked Drew Lock four times, intercepted him twice, and could have had at least two more picks at different times.

Once they took the lead midway through the second quarter, they were only briefly challenged, and it was ultimately a comfortable victory that moved them to 10-3 and dropped Seattle to 6-7.

The monarchs reacted with a shot to the end zone towards Rashee Rice, who closed the gap to 14-17 and equalized in the last quarter with a three-point kick. The Dallas Cowboys certainly look like the best team in the division, even if they have a ways to go to wrap up the NFC East title. Dallas dominated Philadelphia from start to finish in a convincing 33-13 victory that displayed how much better the Cowboys are since they lost to the Eagles six weeks ago.

The Cowboys lead the NFC East via tiebreaker, even though they and the Eagles share the same record. Dallas holds the division lead based on having the best win percentage in division games, but Philadelphia will win the division if they win out.

Dak Prescott threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns as Dallas scored on all four of its first-half possessions, including three touchdowns to build a 24-6 lead it wouldn’t relinquish. The Cowboys never trailed in this one as Prescott and the offense put up a clean performance in rolling to the victory. CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup each had a receiving touchdown, and Rico Dowdle added a rushing touchdown in the win.

Philadelphia failed to score a touchdown and fumbled the ball three times, one from Jalen Hurts and the other two from A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. All three of the turnovers were in Cowboys territory. The Eagles’ lone touchdown came via a forced fumble from Fletcher Cox that resulted in a scoop and score from Jalen Carter. The three turnovers were the most for the Eagles in a game since Week 6.
