NFL Week 10 Roundup

The 2023/24 NFL season keeps going strong week after week and talking about that topic, we just finished week 10. That means the final stretch is getting closer, and nervousness is in the air. Time is running down, so the teams feel the pressure, seeing how many favorites fell this round.

We currently have the Eagles as the team that has looked the best, now sporting an 8-1 record after beating the Cowboys. However, we have the Chiefs and Lions trying to keep themselves as close, with a 7-2 run so far.

Improbable would be an appropriate word to describe what happened Sunday in Baltimore. Despite facing deficits of 14 and 15 points at three stages in Week 10, the Browns rallied to post a 33-31 win over the AFC North rival Ravens. Cleveland, which trailed 31-17 less than a minute into the fourth quarter, completed the comeback when Dustin Hopkins drilled a 40-yard field goal as time expired.

Their heroics were fueled by Deshaun Watson, a punishing running game, and a defense that came up with several big plays. The biggest was defensive back Greg Newsome II’s pick-six of Lamar Jackson midway through the fourth quarter.

Hopkins, who missed the ensuing point-after attempt that would’ve tied it, redeemed himself by hitting the game-winning field goal. The Browns got into position for it after three big plays by Watson and a 12-yard run by Jerome Ford. The former, who briefly left the game with an injury, completed 20 passes on the day (completing each of his 14 pass attempts in the second half) that included six apiece to Amari Cooper and David Njoku.

The win moved the Browns to 6-3, while the Ravens fell to 7-3 and, in the process, missed a golden chance to distance themselves from Cleveland in the division standings.

The Jaguars started slowly and never got faster, and against this opponent, that was trouble.

Trevor Lawrence was sacked five times, lost a fumble, and threw two interceptions. The defense allowed touchdowns to start both halves. All in all, little went right, and a lot went wrong for the Jaguars in a 34-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in front of 69,271 at EverBank Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The loss ended an NFL-high five-game winning streak for the AFC South leaders (6-3). Meanwhile, the NFC West-leading 49ers (6-3) snapped a three-game losing streak.

It was the Jaguars’ most one-sided home loss since a 45-15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14 2019, and the worst loss overall since a 50-10 loss to the New England Patriots at New England in Week 17 2021.

The Detroit Lions did whatever they wanted on offense this NFL Sunday.

There were incredible runs by their running backs, while Jared Goff had a huge game with 333 yards. When they needed one drive to win the game, you knew the Los Angeles Chargers couldn’t stop them, and they didn’t.

Detroit improved to 7-2 and took another step on their run toward the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a fun 41-38 win at the Chargers. The Lions were aggressive on the final drive with a key fourth-down decision, going for it to assure the Chargers offense wouldn’t have another possession. They picked it up, which set up a game-winning field goal as time expired.
