Of the eight teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals, only Queretaro and Monterrey remain alive in the tournament. They must overcome two strong MLS opponents to advance to the semifinals.
Philadelphia and Nashville continue with a great pace of play and, as they have done in the MLS regular season, are playing in great form and are one of the candidates to lift the championship trophy.
However, the pleasant surprise of this tournament is undoubtedly Inter Miami, a team that, after the incorporation of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, shows a completely different face and, from what we see, is now a force to be reckoned with, not only in the Leagues Cup but also in MLS.

We will undoubtedly have a really interesting match, as both teams are coming into this game with a lot of confidence.
Philadelphia has won every match so far in this Leagues Cup, but in both the Round of 32 and the Round of 16, they had to overcome their opponents on penalties. In the Round of 32, they defeated DC United 5-4 (penalties) after finishing the match with a 0-0 score. In the Round of 16, they drew 1-1 in regular time against NY Red Bull, while in the penalty shootout, they won 4-3.
Querétaro, on the other hand, started this tournament in the worst possible way, as they were crushed by Philadelphia Union in the first match of the Group Stage by a score of 1-5. However, they then recovered by beating Tijuana 1-0 to seal their qualification to Round 32, where they faced Pumas. The second match of the Leagues Cup 2023 quarterfinals will feature Nashville and Minnesota, two teams that are having a decent MLS season and are looking for glory in this tournament to have a good second half of the campaign.
Nashville comes into these quarterfinal stages of the Leagues Cup 2023 with some problems, as none of the games they have played in the tournament have been easy. The team started with a 2-1 win over Colorado, but in their second match, they lost 3-4 to Toluca. They also managed to qualify for the next stage of the tournament, the Round of 32, where they faced Cincinnati, and, after an intense and exciting match that ended 1-1 in regular time, they managed to win on penalties by 5-4. Inter Miami is, without a doubt, the revelation team of this tournament with the incorporation of former FC Barcelona players Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. They are giving a lot to talk about and, above all, they are dominating the tournament. Inter defeated Cruz Azul 2-1 and Atlanta United 4-0 in the Group Stage of this Leagues Cup. They followed that up with an excellent 3-1 win over Orlando City in the Round of 32, and then, in the Round of 16, they beat Dallas FC 5-3 on penalties. Messi is playing at a high level, and this is a completely different team than the one that started the MLS season.
On the other hand, we have Charlotte FC, one of the great surprises of this tournament, since they achieved two victories in the Group Stage against FC Dallas and Necaxa to qualify for the next stage. Then, they beat Cruz Azul 4-3 on penalties, and, finally, won 2-1 against the Houston Dynamo in the Round of 16. This team also produces a pleasant surprise, so we have a great atmosphere for this match.
There is no doubt that the influence of Messi, Busquets, and Alba on Inter Miami is noticeable at all times, so our prediction is a 3-1 victory for the South Florida side.

LAFC has been playing at a high level in the MLS for several seasons, but they have struggled to get into the same rhythm and level of play this season. However, the team climbed to second place in the table before this Leagues Cup 2023 started. In this tournament, they started their journey from the Round of 32 since, being the winners of the MLS in the previous season, they earned the right to start the tournament in the playoffs. In their first match, Black & Gold destroyed Juarez with a remarkable score of 7-1. They then crushed Real Salt Lake 4-0 in the Round of 16 to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.
Monterrey, meanwhile, has shown absolute determination in this Leagues Cup 2023, as they are the only team other than LAFC not to have contested a penalty shootout so far.
