Next week between March 14 and 17 at Cheltenham Racecourse the Cheltenham Festival will take place, one of the most important horse racing-based meetings in the National Hunt racing calendar in the United Kingdom.
The Cheltenham Festival is the second most prize money racing meeting in the UK, second only to the Grand National. There are 4 days with 7 races in each one among which 14 Grade I races to stand out: Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Arkle Challenge Trophy, Champion Hurdle, and David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle on Tuesday; Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle, Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase, Queen Mother Champion Chase, and Champion Bumper on Wednesday; Golden Miller Novices’ Chase, Festival Trophy and Stayers’ Hurdle on Thursday; and the Triumph Hurdle, Spa Novices’ Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday.
Paul Townend was the jockey who won the most races in 2022 (the second time he has been chosen top jockey after being in 2020), crowning himself with 5, and achieving a total of 22 since 2011, while Willie Mullins was the leading trainer for the ninth year, fourth in a row, although this time he achieved a record of 10 races won.

Among the candidates in the big races is Facile Vega in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle, Edwardstone in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Stage Star in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase and Galopin Des Champs in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the most important and famous of all.
