The emotions of the 2022 season of the World Surf League continue and, to end this month of February and start March, we will have the Port Stephens Pro 2022 from this February 27, until March 01, 2022. The division of the QS of the World Surf League will host 100 of Australia’s best surfers, to face off against new local talent.

The prize for the participants who make an excellent tournament is to add as many points as possible so they can qualify for the Challenger Series and, later, for the World Championship Tour.

This Port Stephens Pro 2022 starts on February 27, 2022, and will be on Birubi Beach, Port Stephens, New South Wales, Australia.

Top 2 Men’s

  • Matt Banting

Australian Matt Banting, 27, comes into this competition as the best nationally ranked surfer in the QS in Australia. Banting has had an intermittent career. Since his debut in 2011, he has only managed to play 4 full seasons.

In the 2021 season, Banting finished 33rd in the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona, Championship Tour, had a very good win in the QS Vissla Central Coast Pro, and a third place in the Great Lakes Pro, also from the QS.

  • Reef Heazlewood

On the other hand, the young Heazlewood has had a short career but has managed to reap very good results that allowed him to be in position #13 of the QS.

2021 was a very good year for Reef since he participated in most of the events in the different categories. His best results were ninth place in the Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic presented by Corona, first place in the Great Lakes Pro, and third place in the Vissla Central Coast Pro.

  • Zahli Kelly

This great Australian surfer has had a very good career as a professional, because, since her debut in 2016, she has managed to participate in a large number of professional and amateur events that have given her the experience she has at the moment. Kelly had a very good year in 2021 and her best result was, without a doubt, second place in the Oakberry Tweed Coast Pro.

  • Philippa Anderson

While the already experienced Philippa Anderson has returned to riding waves last year since she had been out of the world of surfing for more than 6 years. In 2021, Anderson had regular participation in all the tournaments she played and her best result, without a doubt, was the ninth place of the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona, of the Women’s CT.
